Estimates
Estimates are free and carry no obligation. A range given by phone or from photographs is an estimate. A flat price given after inspecting the work is a quote and is held for 30 days.
Pricing and changes
Quoted flat prices are honored even where the work takes longer than anticipated. A price changes only if you request additional work, or if the condition found materially differs from what was described — in which case a revised price is presented for your approval before proceeding.
Materials
Materials are billed at cost with receipts attached. You may supply your own materials and fixtures.
Payment
Payment is due upon completion and your inspection of the work. Card, Zelle, Venmo, cash and check are accepted. No deposit is required for standard work. Where special-order parts are involved, the part is charged when installed and functioning.
Warranty
Labor is warranted for 90 days from completion. Parts installed carry the manufacturer's warranty. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, subsequent work by others, or unrelated failures.
Scope and licensing
Armen Hammer is not a licensed contractor. Under California Business and Professions Code §7048 (as amended by AB 2622, effective January 1, 2025), work is performed on projects where the total contract price for labor and materials is under $1,000, does not require a building permit, and is performed without employees. Larger or permitted projects are referred to licensed partners.
Work outside these limits is not undertaken. Where a project requires a licensed contractor, that will be communicated before work begins and a referral offered at no charge.
Insurance
General liability insurance is maintained. A certificate is available on request at no charge.
Cancellation
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled at no charge with reasonable notice. There is no cancellation fee.
Limitation of liability
Liability for any claim arising from services performed is limited to the amount paid for those services, except where prohibited by California law. Nothing here limits any right you have under California consumer protection law.
