Frequently asked questions

What exactly do you do?

Eight service lines: handyman work, appliance repair, computer repair and IT support, networking and Wi-Fi, security camera installation, backyard and patio structure assembly, home and office electronics repair, and light plumbing and electrical. For homes and small businesses. Full list here.

What areas do you cover?

Burbank and everywhere within about 25 miles — Glendale, North Hollywood, Toluca Lake, Studio City, Sherman Oaks, Van Nuys, Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Sun Valley, Tujunga, Encino, Los Feliz, Hollywood, Silver Lake, Eagle Rock, Altadena, Northridge, Woodland Hills, San Fernando, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Arcadia and Santa Clarita. Local pages for each.

Are you licensed?

No, and it's stated on every page because California law requires that disclosure. I work inside the §7048 exemption: projects under $1,000 in labor and materials, requiring no building permit, performed without employees. When your job crosses that line you'll be told on the phone, free, and handed names of licensed contractors. Full explanation.

Are you insured?

Yes — general liability on every job, with a certificate available before I arrive. Many condo buildings and HOAs require one on file; send me the management contact and it's handled in advance at no charge.

How fast can you come out?

Most calls before 2 PM get a same-day or next-morning slot in the core area. The outer edge of the radius is usually next-day. Urgent situations — no cooling, active leak, a door that won't lock — jump the queue.

Do you charge for estimates?

No, and there's no obligation. By phone, from photos, or in person. Photos are fastest and most accurate.

Flat price or hourly?

Flat, always, agreed before work starts. Hourly billing punishes you when a job turns out harder than it looked, which in an old Burbank house is often.

Do you mark up materials?

No. Cost, with the receipt attached. You can also buy your own fixtures and have me install them.

What's the warranty?

90 days on all labor, plus the manufacturer's warranty on any part installed. If the same fault returns inside 90 days, the return visit is free.

Can I bundle several different jobs into one visit?

Yes, and you should — it's the single best way to reduce what you spend. Most of a small job's cost is the drive. A half-day visit typically covers four to eight jobs across completely different trades.

Do you work with renters?

Yes. Low-damage and no-drill options for mounting and cameras, network fixes that need no cabling, appliance and computer work. And if a repair is legally your landlord's obligation, you'll be told that rather than charged for it.

Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Regularly — turnover punch lists, appliance service across a portfolio, multi-unit scheduling, per-property invoicing and before-and-after photo documentation. Certificates of insurance provided to management companies at no charge.

Do you serve businesses?

Yes: offices, retail, restaurants, medical and dental practices, warehouses and studios. Networks, camera systems, POS and receipt printers, workstations, printers, AV and general repairs. On-site, no monthly retainer required.

What payment do you take?

Card, Zelle, Venmo, cash or check, due when the work is done and you've inspected it. No deposit on standard jobs.

Do you work weekends?

Saturdays 8–5 and Sundays 9–3, at no premium. Weekend slots book out faster.

What if I'm just outside the 25-mile radius?

Call anyway. Depending on the day, the job and what else is scheduled nearby, it may still work.

Will you tell me if I shouldn't hire you?

Yes, and it happens regularly. If an appliance isn't worth repairing, if a computer isn't worth upgrading, if a job needs a licensed contractor, or if the fix is something you can do yourself in ten minutes — you'll hear that. Advice is free and it's not conditional on booking anything.

How a job actually goes

  1. 1

    Tell me what's wrong

Call, text a photo, or fill in the form. Photos of the model plate or the problem area cut the guesswork enormously.

  2. 2

    Get a real price range

You get a range before I drive out, not after. If it's a job that needs a licensed contractor, I'll tell you that on the phone instead of wasting your time.

  3. 3

I show up in the window

You get a text when I'm on the way. Shoe covers, drop cloths, and the work area left cleaner than I found it.

  4. 4

    Pay when it works

Flat price agreed up front. Card, Zelle, cash or check. Parts I install carry the manufacturer warranty and my labor is guaranteed for 90 days.

Something broken, unfinished, or driving you crazy?

One call covers the house and the office — from a leaking faucet to a dead laptop to four cameras and a new router. Free estimates, no trip charge inside Burbank.
